The day begins by powering up a laptop running Debian. After that, I open GNU Emacs and check open Issues and Pull Requests on the GitHub repositories I contribute to through Magit and Forge. All of this is configured through a bunch of Home Manager modules written and managed by Nix.
What you see above, is a simplified description of the actions I take at the start of my day. It doesn't even account for half the FOSS tools I use on a daily basis... for free! How ungrateful can I be?
I recommend you do the same exercise and evaluate which projects are crucial to you on a daily-basis. Ever since I thought about this, I started donating a monthly amount for the tools I can't live without.
